Export Outlook 2007 Rules and Alerts

If you have some Outlook 2007 rules configured to move emails as they arrive into different folders or some other useful rules or alerts set up for certain events and want to export them to another computer with Outlook or just backup them, you should not be worried about a thing because it can be done.

Rules and Alerts is a very powerful feature of Microsoft Outlook 2007 that helps you by automating some of the things that otherwise would have to be done manually. It lets you create rules by following simple wizards so it is a great way to remain organized even if you have a lot of emails or accounts.

If you want to save a copy of the rules file you can use the following instructions:

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook 2007.
  2. Go to the Tools menu and click on Rules and Alerts. tools_rules_and_alerts
  3. Click on the Options button. rules_and_alerts
  4. Click on Export. rules_and_alerts_options
  5. You should now select where to backup the .rwz file. rules_and_alerts_export
  6. Click on OK twice and you have successfully exported Outlook 2007 Rules and Alerts.

If you don’t know what to do with the exported file, this tutorial will show you how to import it back into Outlook 2007.
